Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue in Jones, OK

Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Jones, Oklahoma, located in Oklahoma County, about 15 miles west of Edmond, OK. The rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of neglected, starved, and abused horses, providing rehabilitation, education, and adoption services regardless of a horse's age or disability. Its primary focus is on animal cruelty cases, and it works closely with the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division and the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office on equine-related cruelty cases, as well as assisting other local and rural county sheriff's offices upon request. Since December 2001, the rescue has taken in over 2,000 horses and adopted out more than 1,600 of them, and it is one of 23 animal shelters and rescues located in Oklahoma County.

Adoption process

Prospective adopters fill out and submit an application/contract, applications are approved on a first-come, first-served basis, and once approved the applicant is given a list of available horses and must meet strict care/facility requirements before finalizing adoption.
