Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary is located in Ravenna, Ohio, in Portage County, roughly 15 miles west of Akron, and is one of five animal shelters and rescues serving that county. The sanctuary is dedicated to supporting farm animals and horses in need, welcoming both community members' animals and adoptable rescues, and cares for horses, ponies, minis, goats, and other farm animals. It offers a Sending Them A Improved Life (STAI) program for owner relinquishment, hosts seasonal farm tours and K-12 virtual tours, and recently opened a new Welcome Center for visitors. Happy Trails is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and partners with organizations such as the ASPCA Right Horse initiative and the Ohio Animal Welfare Federation.
