About this shelter

Freedom Greyhound Rescue, Inc. in Twinsburg, OH

Freedom Greyhound Rescue, Inc. is a rescue organization based in Twinsburg, Ohio, in Summit County, about 15 miles south of Akron, and one of 17 animal shelters and rescues serving the Summit County area. The organization focuses on finding adoptive homes for retired racing greyhounds, and it saw an increased need for placement after Florida's passage of Amendment 13, which banned greyhound racing in the state by the end of 2020. Freedom Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to cover vetting costs, including spay/neuter surgery, dental care, vaccinations, and transport fees for incoming greyhounds, and it depends on volunteers and foster homes to support its adoption program.
