Forever Friends Foundation is an animal shelter located in Northfield, Ohio, in Summit County, about 15 miles northwest of Cleveland, and is one of 17 animal shelters and rescues serving that county. Established in 2003, it operates as a 100% volunteer-based 501(c)(3) rescue focused primarily on cats and kittens, while also taking in dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs when foster families are available. Foster families provide medical care, vaccines, food, and safe homes for the more than 100 animals in the rescue's care at any given time, with adoptions taking place from foster homes or from adoption centers at Petco and PetSmart locations in Macedonia and Parma. Since its founding, the foundation has rescued and found homes for more than 8,500 animals across Northeast Ohio, guided by a mission to reduce the unwanted pet population through spay and neuter programs and adoption.
