Prairie Paws Rescue in Jamestown, ND
Prairie Paws Rescue is a foster-home-based animal rescue organization located in Jamestown, North Dakota, roughly 90 miles east of West Fargo, in Stutsman County, where two other shelters or rescues also operate. Rather than maintaining a physical shelter facility, Prairie Paws places dogs and cats in the care of volunteer foster parents, who help socialize each animal and get to know its temperament with kids and other pets before adoption. Most of the animals in its care come from neglectful situations, strays, pounds, owner surrenders, or other rescue groups, and are given full veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping, while in foster care. Adopters must complete a pre-adoption application, and adoption fees are $200 for dogs and $75 for cats, both covering essential medical care.
