North Carolina Schnauzer Rescue in Holly Springs, NC
North Carolina Schnauzer Rescue is a rescue organization based in Holly Springs, North Carolina, in Wake County, about 15 miles northeast of Raleigh, and shares the county with 18 other area animal shelters and rescues. NCSR is a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer group dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing abandoned or displaced purebred miniature schnauzers throughout North Carolina, taking in dogs from owner or breeder turn-ins, family situations, and shelters. Rather than operating a central shelter, it relies on a network of foster homes across the state to assess each dog's behavior and find the best possible adoptive match, while also promoting spay/neuter and responsible, lifelong pet ownership. All adopted schnauzers must live as indoor family members, and the rescue does not place dogs in homes that rely on electronic/underground fencing.
