About this shelter

Humane Society of Sonoma County in Santa Rosa, CA

The Humane Society of Sonoma County has served animals in Santa Rosa, California since 1931, making it one of the region's longest-standing sources of animal welfare. As a donor-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it operates without federal, state, or other humane society funding, relying instead on its community to provide a safe haven for animals in need. Its mission is to transform animal welfare across Sonoma County through prevention, community veterinary care, innovative sheltering, partnerships, and education, and it maintains campuses in both Santa Rosa and Healdsburg offering adoption, veterinary, spay/neuter, and behavior training services for dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Located about 50 miles southeast of San Francisco, it is one of 16 animal shelters and rescues serving Sonoma County.
