Adoption Process

The adoption fees for dogs are $70 for males and $80 for females. If the dog is already spayed or neutered, the fee is reduced to $35. For cats, the fees are $60 for males and $70 for females. If the cat is already spayed or neutered, the fee is $25. Adopters must sign a contract stating that the Central Coast Humane Society (CCHS) is not responsible for any damages caused by the animal or for any additional veterinary bills. All adopted animals must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within five business days of adoption. Additionally, all animals must be spayed or neutered by the dates specified in the adoption paperwork.

If we have the capacity, we can also accept animals from other counties for a drop-off fee of $35.00 per animal. We do not discriminate against any specific breeds and strive to save as many animals as possible.
