About this shelter

Goshen Humane Society, Inc. in Goshen, NY

Goshen Humane Society, Inc. is a humane society located in Goshen, New York, in Orange County, roughly 35 miles south of Paterson, NJ, and one of 20 animal welfare organizations serving Orange County. The shelter, at 44 Police Drive behind the Goshen DPW and Police Department, cares for surrendered and stray cats and dogs, requiring that animals be spayed or neutered, tested, and vaccinated before intake. It operates on adoption and surrender fees, membership dues, and public donations rather than significant municipal funding, and it partners with Petstablished for online adoption applications while also listing pets on Petfinder. The shelter also runs a "pay it forward" program, offering pet food assistance to owners facing temporary hardship so they can keep their animals.
