Pets Alive, Inc. is a no-kill animal rescue located in Middletown, New York, in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, about 40 miles south of Paterson, NJ. Its mission is to improve the lives of companion animals everywhere through rescue, adoption, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education, and it cares for dogs, cats, and other animals at its sanctuary while working to find them forever homes. The organization also runs a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program for feral cats in the City of Middletown and an Improving Adoptability program that uses positive reinforcement to help hard-to-place dogs become more adoptable. Located in Orange County, Pets Alive shares the area with 19 other animal shelters and rescues also based in the county.
