Fur and Feather Animal Assistance, Inc. is a permanent residential animal shelter in Pie Town, New Mexico, located in Catron County, about 100 miles northeast of Albuquerque. Established in the fall of 2003, this no-kill sanctuary rescues lost, abandoned, or unwanted dogs, cats, and equines from Catron County and surrounding communities, caring for them on a 90-acre facility through adoption or, for many older, disabled, or hard-to-place animals, for the rest of their lives. The organization has spayed or neutered more than 1,500 animals and matched hundreds with adoptive families, and it also serves as part of a network of shelters providing safe haven for pets of domestic violence victims. Two other animal shelters or rescues also serve Catron County alongside Fur and Feather.
