SOS Dogs is a small dog rescue based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in Camden County, roughly 15 miles west of Philadelphia, PA, where it shares the county with 17 other animal shelters and rescues. Since 1990, this 501(c)3 organization has specialized in rescuing Yorkies, Westies, Maltese, and other small, non-shedding toy breeds, including breeding dogs pulled from puppy mills in Lancaster County as well as dogs surrendered by owners, injured dogs, and dogs facing euthanasia in shelters. Every rescued dog receives needed medical treatment, surgeries, altering, shots, training, and socialization before being placed, and adopters are carefully screened to ensure they are experienced dog owners who won't leave the dog alone all day and who have a genuine love for animals. The rescue serves the entire mid-Atlantic region from Massachusetts to Virginia and states that it has found a home for every single dog in its care.
