Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the submission of a complete adoption application, which must include references. Once the application is received, we will provide information about specific dogs available through our rescue program. We will verify the application and check all references before approving an adoption. A home visit may be required as part of the process. All dogs undergo a veterinary examination, are spayed or neutered, and are brought up to date on vaccinations. They are also treated for worms and internal parasites, and if necessary, receive dental cleaning, which may include extractions, as well as bloodwork and urinalysis to check for urinary tract infections or bladder stones. An adoption application and a donation are required to proceed.

NJSRN is composed entirely of dedicated volunteers who are located across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and Delaware. Our services extend throughout the Northeastern United States.
