California Animal Rescue in Santa Rosa, CA

California Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless animals from county shelters and the streets, while also addressing population control through responsible spaying and neutering. Our team consists of passionate volunteers who rescue animals, provide foster care in their homes, and facilitate adoptions. Despite being a nonprofit corporation, we operate primarily as a small group of devoted animal lovers. Each of us balances jobs, family, and busy lives, yet we remain committed to saving animals. Our dedication often leads us to spend nights bottle-feeding kittens, caring for sick or injured animals, or making emergency vet visits. Our operations are based out of our homes, which limits the number of animals we can rescue. Therefore, we focus on those in urgent need. During the spring and summer months, we rely on seasonal foster parents to assist during peak times, particularly with litters of sick kittens or pregnant cats. We are always in need of more foster homes, so we encourage anyone interested in fostering to reach out to us. We rescue numerous animals from euthanasia at overcrowded county shelters, as well as those abandoned or found in distressing situations by compassionate individuals. By taking in these animals, we help reduce shelter overcrowding and provide them with a chance for a better life. We nurture the animals in our homes, often rehabilitating those in need of medical care, and ensure they are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed before they are placed for adoption.
