Central Missouri Humane Society has been putting pets with people since 1943, serving Columbia, Missouri in Boone County, where it is one of six animal shelters and rescues in the county. Located at 616 Big Bear Blvd., about 2 miles south of Columbia, the shelter finds homes for dogs, cats, and small animals through adoption, and also offers foster care, pet rehoming services, lost-and-found resources, veterinary services, and a pet food bank for the community. Visitors can stop by Monday through Friday from noon to 6, Saturday noon to 5, and Sunday noon to 3.
