About this shelter

Furget Us Not Rescue in Hazel Park, MI

Furget Us Not Rescue is a rescue organization based in Hazel Park, Michigan, in Oakland County, about 6 miles northeast of Warren, MI, with 22 other animal shelters and rescues also located in Oakland County. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit and small, volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, meaning none of its animals live in a shelter; instead, its dogs, cats, and guinea pigs stay in foster homes located throughout Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair Counties. The rescue has a soft spot for older small breed dogs and focuses on saving animals left behind in shelters or affected by economic hardship, with volunteers who work entirely unpaid. Adoptions are generally limited to Michigan residents, though parts of Indiana, Ohio, and New York are also considered, and adopters must be at least 21, provide a vet reference, and pass a home visit.
