Steve's Snaketuary is an animal shelter located in Shreveport, Louisiana, about 10 miles north of the city in Caddo Parish, where it is one of three animal shelters or rescues serving the parish. Its mission is to eliminate fear through education and bring peace through rescue, offering snake rescue for unwanted pet snakes and reptiles, humane snake removal from homes and businesses, and free snake identification services for people throughout Louisiana. The sanctuary is led by Steve, a Master Herpetologist and National Wildlife Control Operator who is also a Firefighter, Advanced EMT, and CPR/BLS Instructor, and its education programs teach the public about snake safety, first aid, and the important role snakes play in controlling rodent, frog, and lizard populations.
