Woodford Humane Society in Versailles, KY
Woodford Humane Society is located in Versailles, Kentucky, in Woodford County, about 15 miles east of Lexington, and is one of three animal welfare organizations serving the county, alongside two other area shelters and rescues. The shelter runs its Adoption Center by appointment, asking visitors to call ahead to meet available pets, and it also operates a spay/neuter program and a Receiving Center where the community can drop off donated supplies. Facing rising owner surrenders and record-low adoptions, Woodford Humane relies heavily on community support, including wish-list donations and programs like Kroger Community Rewards, to continue caring for the animals in its charge.
