Spenser's Legacy Animal Rescue in Fayetteville, AR
Spenser's Legacy Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, about 4 miles southeast of the city in Washington County, where 10 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. Founded in the summer of 2006, it rescues lost, abandoned, sick, abused, feral, and stray animals—domestic, farm, or wild—and has cared for animals including cats and kittens, dogs, disabled bunnies, a chicken, and a senior horse. Cats live in suite-style housing called the "Feline Facility" rather than cages, dogs have ample room to run with shelter from the elements, and barns provide space for farm animals. The rescue does not euthanize animals unless they cannot be saved or are suffering, spays or neuters all animals prior to adoption, and provides a lifetime home to any animal that proves unadoptable.
