The Kentucky Humane Society is a humane society based in Louisville, Kentucky, located in Jefferson County, roughly 6 miles north of the city, where 13 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. It is the state's largest pet adoption agency and spay/neuter provider, offering adoptions for dogs, cats, and horses at locations including the Sam Swope Pet TLC, East Campus, and Willow Hope Farm. Beyond adoption, KHS runs programs such as the CARE-a-van mobile veterinary clinic for low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services, dog training classes, a pet food bank, and pet retention services to help families keep their pets in their homes. The organization is currently raising funds through its ALL IN capital campaign to build a new Animal & Community Campus aimed at expanding its efforts to reduce pet overpopulation and animal suffering.

Prospective adopters complete an online adoption interest form, then visit an adoption center (walk-ins welcome at Sam Swope Pet TLC, or by appointment for cats at Purrfect Day Café and horses at Willow Hope Farm) to meet and apply to adopt an animal, paying an adoption fee plus applicable license, leash/collar, or carrier fees.
