National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network (NBRAN) is a rescue organization based in Greenfield, Indiana, in Hancock County, about 15 miles west of Indianapolis and home to 5 other animal shelters or rescues in the county. NBRAN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit made up of a network of dedicated volunteers across the United States and Canada devoted to rescuing homeless American Brittanys, affectionately called "Britts." The organization relies heavily on foster homes in every state and Canadian province to care for dogs until they find forever homes, and it runs two special adoption programs for senior dogs: Seniors to Seniors, for adopters age 60 and older, and Adopt a Senior, aimed at placing older Brittanys in loving homes. NBRAN emphasizes that adopting a Brittany, known for its gentle, clownish, and puppy-like personality, brings lasting rewards to both dog and owner.
