Pike County Illinois Animal Shelter is located in Pittsfield, Illinois, on the north edge of town along Highway 107, in Pike County, about 60 miles east of Springfield, IL. It is a county-operated, not-for-profit shelter that houses 20-25 dogs of various breeds at any given time, including Lab mixes, Australian Shepherds, German Shepherd mixes, and other mixed breeds, and it is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. All animals are spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination before adoption. The shelter relies on cash donations and supplies like dog and cat food, litter, and cleaning products from the community to help keep animals longer and increase their chances of adoption.
