Chicagoland Stray Cat Coalition in Chicago, IL
Chicagoland Stray Cat Coalition is a cat rescue based in Chicago, Illinois, located in Cook County alongside 70 other animal shelters and rescues in the county, and situated about 1 mile southeast of Chicago. The coalition brings together Chicago-area humane organizations and caregivers to humanely reduce the feral cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return, a process in which stray and feral cats are trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized, with kittens and tame cats placed for adoption while healthy feral adults are returned to their outdoor colonies under volunteer care. It does not operate as an animal shelter or sanctuary itself and does not run its own adoption agency or assist with pet cats, instead relying on its member organizations for those services. The coalition also depends on donated supplies like towels, cat carriers, and food, along with volunteers and foster homes, to support its feral cat population management efforts.
