Greyhound Rescue of Idaho in Boise, ID
Greyhound Rescue of Idaho is a rescue organization based in Boise, Idaho, in Ada County, roughly 5 miles southeast of downtown Boise, with 14 other animal shelters and rescues also located in Ada County. As a 501(c)3 organization, GRI specializes exclusively in ex-racing greyhounds, working to match each dog's personality with the right adoptive family rather than simply placing dogs based on appearance. Every greyhound entering their care is spayed or neutered, given a dental cleaning, tested for heartworm, vaccinated, and examined by a veterinarian before adoption, and each comes with a collar, ID tags, and an adoption handbook. Beyond adoptions, GRI also runs a Sanctuary Sponsor program supporting ex-racers with special needs and requires adopters to have a fenced yard and keep greyhounds as indoor pets.
