Adoption Process

Applicants must be at least 21, fill out a Prospective Owner Application, and pay a non-refundable $25 application fee before review; applicants and dogs must meet in person in the metro Atlanta area, a home visit may be conducted, and the adoption fee is $300 (plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit for small puppies).

Labrador Friends of the South, Inc. is a Cumming, Georgia animal shelter located in Forsyth County, about 40 miles south of Atlanta, and one of five animal shelters or rescues serving that county. It is an incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the rescue and adoption of homeless Labrador Retrievers throughout the Southeast region, run entirely by volunteers and funded solely through donations, fundraising events, and adoption fees, with no state or federal funding. The organization works to protect dogs from the effects of pet overpopulation and irresponsible ownership, relying on a network of foster homes to socialize and prepare rescued Labs before helping them find new, loving, forever homes.
