Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Peachtree City, Georgia, roughly 25 miles northeast of Atlanta in Fayette County, where five other animal shelters or rescues also operate. GRRA is the oldest golden retriever rescue in Georgia and has placed more Golden Retrievers than any other rescue in the southeastern US, ranking 5th in the nation according to the National Association of Golden Retriever Rescues. The organization is dedicated to providing veterinary care, comprehensive evaluation, and foster and adoptive homes to Golden and Labrador Retrievers who are abandoned, mistreated, neglected, or left in shelters throughout Georgia. Run entirely by volunteers, GRRA relies on donations and fostering to give dogs, including many with significant medical needs, a path to loving adoptive homes.

Adoption process

Applicants complete an application form and pay a $35 non-refundable application fee, after which an Adoption Consultant contacts them, arranges a required home visit, and checks references and veterinary records before matching them with a dog through one of three adoption routes (Traditional Adoption, Foster to Adopt, or Paws for Success).
