Dog Star Rescue is a dog rescue located in Bloomfield, Connecticut, about 4 miles southeast of Hartford. It is the largest all-volunteer dog rescue in Connecticut, and as a foster-based, non-profit organization it places stray, abandoned, shelter, and owner-surrendered dogs of all breeds and ages into qualified, caring, lifelong homes. Over its 12 years of operation, the rescue has placed more than 8,000 dogs into loving forever homes with the help of around 300 volunteers and about 100 adoption events each year.
