About this shelter

Graham County Animal Shelter in Safford, AZ

Graham County Animal Shelter is located in Safford, Arizona, about 80 miles southwest of Tucson, and is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The shelter's mission is to provide quality service to the county for animal-related needs, from handling stray pets to advising residents on pet care, with a strong focus on educating the public about pet sterilization and responsible pet ownership. It is not a rescue facility, and staff work to place animals despite receiving more strays than local partners like the Arizona Animal Welfare League can absorb. The facility handles animal control issues such as at-large and barking dogs and dog bites, and also facilitates adoptions and coordinates with various animal rescues.
