Alaska SPCA Adoption Center in Anchorage, AK

Alaska SPCA Adoption Center, located in Anchorage, Alaska, is part of Alaska PAWS (Alaska Partners for Animal Welfare & Safety), an independent nonprofit humane society serving dogs, cats, and pet families across the state. Building on more than 70 years of work, the organization provides affordable veterinary care, community outreach, shelter and adoption services, pet retention programs, and emergency assistance to help pets and people throughout Alaska. Its mission is to reduce the suffering of Alaska's dogs and cats, with a vision of a state where all cats and dogs experience emotional, physical, and environmental health and lifelong wellness. The Adoption Center, about 5 miles north of Anchorage, is open Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

You meet and spend time with the pet you're interested in, and if you already have dogs at home, a controlled meet-and-greet with them is required before the adoption can be finalized; adopted pets go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
