West Place Animal Sanctuary in Tiverton, RI
West Place Animal Sanctuary is located in Tiverton, Rhode Island, about 15 miles northwest of Warwick, RI, and is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The sanctuary rescues horses, cows, alpacas, and other farm animals that have suffered neglect and cruelty, and also provides wildlife rehabilitation for waterfowl and game birds. Founded and led by executive director Wendy Taylor, who served as an on-site emergency responder during the landmark Westport cruelty case, the organization continues to care for several of that case's survivors. Visitors can support its work through volunteering, sponsoring a rescued animal, or attending scheduled visitor weekends and tours.
