The Brougher Companion Animal Shelter - York County SPCA is located in York, Pennsylvania, about 20 miles northwest of Harrisburg, and operates as a humane society open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Since 1926, the YCSPCA has saved more than 350,000 animal lives, working to find permanent, loving homes for displaced and stray animals in York County. The organization also runs programs to help control animal population growth, investigates and prosecutes cruelty offenders, and educates the public about animal wellness and safety. Guided by the motto "Giving Animals A New Leash on Life," the shelter is dedicated to providing long-term human and animal services to York County residents.
