Lost and Found Horse Rescue Foundation is an equine rescue located in Jacobus, Pennsylvania, in York County, where five other animal shelters or rescues also operate; the farm sits roughly 30 miles north of Harrisburg, PA. Founded three decades ago when it became the 17th adoption center for Cleveland Armory's Fund for Animals, the organization began by taking in 200 donkeys from Death Valley and Crystal Lake before expanding to rescue horses, mules, and donkeys from race tracks, court cases, livestock auctions, and private individuals. Over the years its work has focused on rehabilitating and training these animals and carefully matching each horse or donkey to the right rider and family. Lost and Found Horse Rescue Foundation, Inc. is a registered Maryland 501(c)3 nonprofit.
