Elk County Humane Society in Saint Marys, PA

The Elk County Humane Society is an animal shelter located in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, about 90 miles northwest of Erie. Formed by a group of animal lovers to help homeless animals of Elk County, it was granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in 2001 and operated through foster homes until its shelter building was completed in 2007, funded by donations from foundations, corporations, organizations, and individuals. The shelter features 24 dog kennels, 44 cat pens, a puppy room, and a medical room. It is open Monday 12:00–4:00 PM, Tuesday 12:00–5:00 PM, Thursday 12:00–5:00 PM, Friday 12:00–4:00 PM, and Saturday 12:00–4:00 PM, and relies on community donations and volunteers to continue improving the lives of homeless animals.
