Indraloka Animal Sanctuary in Dalton, PA
Indraloka Animal Sanctuary is located in Dalton, Pennsylvania, about 60 miles south of Allentown, and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Founded in 2005 by Indra Lahiri, the sanctuary relocated from its original 30 acres in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania, to nearly 100 acres in Dalton in the spring of 2020, and its name means "Heaven for the Gods" in Sanskrit. It rescues and provides lifetime care for at-risk farm animals who have faced abuse, neglect, and hoarding, and it is accredited by both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and the American Sanctuary Association. Beyond animal rescue, Indraloka also runs the NEPA Rescue Veterinary Clinic offering discounted veterinary services, and operates community programs like Indraloka Heals and Compassion Classroom aimed at building resilience and compassion through connection with rescued farm animals.
