4 Hope Animal Sanctuary is an animal shelter located in Dansville, New York, about 45 miles north of Rochester. The sanctuary takes in dogs without a stable home and places no time limit on how long they can stay, providing a cage-free life on its property with roughly three acres for the dogs to run. Every dog in its care is brought up to date on vaccines and spayed or neutered before being placed in a forever home, and if a suitable home can't be found, the dog has a permanent place at the sanctuary. The organization also hopes to help train dogs as therapy, companion, or service animals, with a particular focus on supporting veterans dealing with PTSD.
