The Nassau County SPCA is a humane society based in Bethpage, New York, roughly 20 miles north of Stamford, CT. The organization runs Nassau County's only 24-hour animal abuse hotline, and its Humane Law Enforcement Officers are dedicated volunteers who investigate cruelty, enforce animal protection laws, rescue animals, and make arrests when necessary. Beyond enforcement, the shelter offers resources for pet owners, assists with adoption and fostering of homeless pets, and works to educate the community to prevent animal cruelty; it is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
