About this shelter

focus rescue and rehabilitation in Mogadore, OH

FOCUS Rescue & Rehabilitation is a horse rescue organization based in Mogadore, Ohio, about 10 miles northwest of Akron. Operating as a 501c3, FOCUS is dedicated to the health, safety, and well-being of horses that are slaughter bound, abused, neglected, or surrendered by owners no longer able to care for them, and each horse receives up-to-date veterinary and farrier care along with a training assessment to determine its best path forward. The organization also cares for rescued foals and offers fostering and adoption opportunities, with a thorough adoption process that includes an application, reference checks, a facility viewing, and a signed contract, plus a strict return policy to ensure horses never end up neglected or auction bound. Beyond horse rescue, FOCUS is involved in the local community through programs supporting non-violent youth, youth empowerment, and veteran outreach.
