Tabby Tails Cat Rescue is a no-kill cat rescue and sanctuary located in Custar, Ohio, about 30 miles northeast of Toledo. It operates out of a 19,000-square-foot former elementary school near Milton Center, Ohio, where cats are largely free-roaming and only caged when sick or in quarantine. Tabby Tails was founded as a safety net for high-risk cats—those who are disabled, feral, hybrid, behaviorally challenged, or severely sick or injured—and now also accepts Feline Leukemia (FeLV+) positive cats. While many cats are adopted out, those who cannot be placed in homes are given a permanent, loving sanctuary with no time limit on their stay.

Adoption process

Fill out an adoption application for a cat currently listed as available; the rescue reviews applications carefully to ensure a good fit and may deny or redirect applicants, and adopters must be ready to take the cat home within a week; adopted cats come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested for FIV/FeLV for a $50 (or $75 for two) fee.
