About this shelter

Berea Animal Rescue Shelter in Columbia Station, OH

Berea Animal Rescue Shelter is a no-time-limit animal rescue organization located in Columbia Station, Ohio, about 15 miles northeast of Cleveland. Operating since 1987 as Berea Animal Rescue Friends (ARF), it rescues stray and homeless dogs and cats, providing medical care, spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and housing until each animal is placed into a forever home. The shelter relies on over 300 volunteers and a small staff to place more than 1,300 animals into adoptive homes each year, and it also runs a Pet Food Pantry to help local families keep their pets during financial hardship. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30–6:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00–4:00 PM, operating entirely on adoptions, fundraisers, and donations with no federal or municipal funding.
