Berea Animal Rescue Fund in Berea, OH
Berea Animal Rescue Fund is a rescue organization located in Berea, Ohio, within Cuyahoga County, about 10 miles northeast of Cleveland, and one of 41 other animal shelters and rescues serving that same county. Operating since 1987 as a no-time-limit animal shelter, it cares for stray and homeless dogs and cats for as long as it takes to place them into forever homes, providing medical care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and housing along the way. The organization receives no federal or municipal funding, relying instead on adoptions, fundraisers and donations, and its more than 300 volunteers and small staff place over 1,300 animals into loving homes each year. Berea ARF also runs a Pet Pantry to help local families keep their pets during financial hardship and has spayed or neutered more than 4,200 animals over the past five years through its ongoing spay/neuter efforts.
