Hope Animal Shelter in Ironwood, MI

Hope Animal Shelter is located in Ironwood, Michigan, about 100 miles west of Duluth, MN, and is the only animal shelter serving Gogebic County, Michigan and Iron County, Wisconsin. It is a 501(c)3 private, non-profit organization that provides safe shelter, food, and medical care to more than 500 dogs and cats each year. As a "no time limits" shelter for domestic, non-feral dogs and cats, HOPE cares for animals for as long as they need, offering warm blankets, toys, treats, and time with caring staff and volunteers while they wait to be reunited with their families or find a new forever home. The shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00–6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00–5:00 PM.

Prospective adopters visit the shelter to meet and spend time with the animal, then complete an adoption application (online, by mail, or in person); applications are reviewed before approval, and adoption fees (cash or check only) apply once approved.
