Wishbone Pet Rescue in Douglas, MI

Wishbone Pet Rescue is a rescue organization based in Douglas, Michigan, located about 35 miles northeast of Grand Rapids. It was founded in response to the story of Chance, a black lab who survived severe abuse in 2008, and its mission is to protect, shelter, and rehome abused and abandoned animals throughout Allegan County and West Michigan. In 2011 the organization opened Wishbone House in Douglas, which serves as a thrift store, adoption site, and rescue headquarters, home to its adoptable cats alongside dogs and cats available through the Allegan County Animal Shelter. Wishbone Pet Rescue is open Monday through Saturday from 12:00 to 4:00 PM.
