About this shelter

Tuscola County Animal Shelter in Caro, MI

The Tuscola County Animal Shelter is located in Caro, Michigan, about 35 miles south of Flint, and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00–4:00 PM. It is a governmental agency funded with tax dollars, situated in a rural area with 16 dog kennels and 9 cat cages, dedicated to the welfare of animals and the safety of citizens in Tuscola County. Staff work to adopt out animals or place them with rescues across Michigan, and the shelter's duties include investigating animal cruelty, picking up stray and unwanted dogs, enforcing leash laws, promoting adoption, advocating spay and neuter, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership. Adoptable pets can be viewed on the shelter's Petfinder page, and the shelter also assists owners with lost pets and pets they can no longer keep.
