About this shelter
Ahimsa House, Inc. in Alpharetta, GA
Ahimsa House, Inc. is an animal shelter located in Alpharetta, Georgia, in Fulton County, roughly 8 miles southeast of Atlanta, and 11 other animal shelters or rescues also operate within Fulton County. The organization is dedicated to addressing the link between domestic violence and animal cruelty, offering a 24-hour crisis line and emergency transport to rescue pets from abusive homes across Georgia. It provides up to 60 days of shelter and care—including food, crates, bowls, bedding, collars, leashes, toys, and veterinary care—for pets while their owners escape danger and find safety, then works to reunite pets with their owners once they've reached a safe, stable home. Its mission follows a "Rescue. Rebuild. Reunite." approach, relying heavily on a network of foster and transport volunteers to serve both the human and animal victims of domestic violence.
