Humane Society of Branch County in Quincy, MI

The Humane Society of Branch County is a no-kill, non-profit humane society located in Quincy, Michigan, roughly 60 miles south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was organized in 1973 by Debbie Brooks, incorporated in 1974, and has operated at its current Wildwood Road location since spring 1979 on land donated by Oral (Bud) & Ida Mae Stetler. Its mission is to provide humane care and treatment for animals needing protection in Branch County, promote enforcement of animal protection laws, educate the public on animal safety, and encourage spaying and neutering to control the unwanted pet population. The shelter cares for dogs and cats, relies entirely on donations, bequests, grants, and volunteers with no city, county, or state funding, and is open Monday through Wednesday 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, Thursday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
