Friends of Staunton Augusta Waynesboro Animal Shelter is located in Waynesboro, Virginia, about 90 miles southeast of Richmond. Founded in 2019 by a group of animal lovers, the organization supports the Staunton Augusta Waynesboro Animal Shelter by providing supplemental medical funding for shelter dogs and cats when municipal budgets fall short, along with a community pet food pantry to help keep pets in their homes and reduce surrenders. Over 90% of every dollar donated goes directly toward veterinary treatments for animals in need, including surgeries and care for animals who might otherwise be overlooked for adoption or face euthanasia. The group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works in close partnership with the shelter to improve its save rate and give vulnerable animals a second chance at finding loving homes.
