Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 480 Cinnabar Road in Christiansburg, Virginia, about 70 miles south of Winston-Salem, NC. The center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It finds homes for dogs and cats, with adoptable animals listed on Petfinder, Adoptapet, Facebook, and Instagram; the adoption fee is $80 for dogs and $60 for cats, or $25 for animals that are already spayed or neutered, and all pets are spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies before going to their new homes. The center does not sell animals for medical research and also hosts periodic fee-waived adoption events, such as its annual Clear the Shelters weekend.
