Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a dog rescue based in Arlington, Virginia, roughly 5 miles east of Washington, DC, and is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Founded in 2009, it is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has saved over 35,000 lives, rescuing homeless and at-risk dogs and cats while supporting pet parents to help keep families together. The organization runs a foster-based program in the Washington, DC metro area and operates a rescue campus in South Carolina that provides medical care to animals before they enter the foster program. With no state or federal funding, Lucky Dog relies entirely on donations, with 100% of contributions going toward rescuing and rehoming its dogs and cats.
