New Leash Rescue in Farmington, MN
New Leash Rescue is a 100% volunteer-powered rescue organization based in Farmington, Minnesota, about 15 miles northwest of Bloomington, MN. Its mission is to help dogs and cats who cannot help themselves, taking in animals from shelters, impounds, and owner surrenders and providing veterinary care and behavioral support to place them in permanent, loving homes. The rescue collaborates with other rescues, veterinary clinics, and trainers, and continues to support adoptive families after placement. Adoption events are held most Saturdays at the Lakeville PetSmart, and all donations go directly toward the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of the animals in its care.

Adoptions are held at Saturday events at Twin Cities-area PetSmart locations, and applicants must complete a dog or cat adoption application; requirements include having all household pets spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations, indoor-only living, and for renters a two-year history at their current residence with prior pet care experience.
