About this shelter

Peggy Schilling Adoption Center in Webster, WI

Peggy Schilling Adoption Center is an animal shelter located in Webster, Wisconsin, about 70 miles north of Duluth, MN, and is open 24 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Operated by the Humane Society of Burnett County, the shelter is on a mission to provide a safe haven for stray or unwanted animals, foster the human-animal bond, promote responsible pet ownership, and end pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs. The organization was incorporated in 2000 and originally sheltered stray dogs in foster homes before opening its first building in Siren in 2002. In June 2019 it moved into its current facility, made possible by a generous donation from the late Hugh Schilling, Jr. in memory of his wife Peggy, and between January 2008 and October 2023 the organization has helped over 5,000 animals.
